No Stress Zone: 8 Ways to De-Stress

1. Listen to Music

Listening to music always helps me feel 100 times better after dealing with stressful situations. I am a huge fan of the “Chill Vibes” and “Alternative R&B” playlists on Spotify. They get me through my entire day, starting from the moment I wake up to the moment I lay my head down to sleep.

2. Journal

I love journaling after having a bad day. There are days when I don’t want to talk about my problems, but I still need some sort of release; on those days I journal. I am able to get my feelings out and still keep them to myself.

3. Pamper Yourself

When you look good you feel good. 

4. Meditate

Earlier this year Sherri and I started a challenge that we felt would allow us to be the best version of ourselves. We know mental health is super important so we made sure we included meditation. Meditation allowed me to get rid of all the clutter that I needed to let go off.

5. Take Group Fitness Classes

Group fitness classes are a great way to release stress. I’m so focused on not dying in the class that I have no time to think about anything else.

6. Read

Reading a captivating book or article always takes my mind off the things that may be bothering me. I get so lost in the story that I forget about whatever it was that was stressing me out in the first place.

7. Watch/Listen to Things That Make You Laugh

I live for ratchet TV; it’s one of my guilty pleasures. Though, I don’t watch it as often as I once did (one of the perks of adulthood), I know that VH1 will be there whenever I need a good laugh.

8. Wine Night

Wine night with the girls is probably my favorite way to de-stress. At the end of the night we all leave feeling loved and reassured and whatever stress we came in with is gone.
